Kitties

Here's a picture of my kitties! Zach and Rusty! I wanted to learn how to post pictures :0) Posted by Hello

Halloween

Halloween is fast approaching and I like it. Lets face it, there is really no other time of year when you can dress up and act like an idiot without facing criticism from the general public (or striking fear into their hearts). I'm in the process of getting my hands on some decorations, and I might buy costumes for my cats. I know, I am a geek. But it would be pretty funny to see some cats dressed up though, wouldn't it? Plus Rusty is already orange so he is in the spirit of things by default.
Speaking of that, I was curious about which colors come to mind when you think of Halloween? In general, I think of orange and black. Most would probably answer the same. What strikes me as funny about this? Well, it has to do with my older sister, or sistear as I would like to call her (I had some issues with spelling as a very young child). Halloween is my sister's favorite holiday! But at the same time, she DESPISES the color orange! This is an oxymoron if I have ever heard one. Something to ponder....

"Once in a while, I sit back and think about the planet...

But most of the time, I trip on it." I was just driving down the street by my apartment today and I started thinking about how I wanted to go rollerblading down by the Potomac. There is this really cool trail and stuff. But then I remembered that I burned my stopper completely down to nothing the last time I went rollerblading. See, the aforementioned road by my apartment happens to consist of a huge hill (which I must say is very deceiving when you are simply driving up/down the hill rather than rolling) with the Intersection of Doom at the bottom of it. So basically on the way up I almost died of exhaustion, and was more walking up the hill than rolling per say. And on the way down I was flying at about 150 mph watching the Intersection of Doom approaching at a sickening rate. This is how my stopper ceased to exist, and that is where I come to the title of this post. But first, let me say that earlier in the hill I happened to fly off of the edge of a curb that I didn't see coming, luckily landing on the grass on the other side of a driveway. After I had recovered from this spill and started rolling again, I decided that since I was heading for certain death at my current rate I should try to slow down. I tried some stuff with no luck, and then the bright idea of heading for the grass occurred to me. This seemed much more appealing than running into a car and hey I had already done it once so far. Let's pause: picture a moment in your childhood when you found a flat rock on the side of a lake and sent it skipping across the top of the water. Now picture my backside as that rock, and I suppose the grass was the water. I bounced along that grass like my ass was made of rubber and ended up with some serious grass stains. The funny thing is, the same car drove by me each time I fell! I felt pretty dumb but I still sat there and laughed what was left of my ass off. I don't know how I finally did it, but I made it home and lets just say I haven't been rollerblading since.

(title quote is from a No Doubt song if you were wondering..)

First Post

Soooooooo..... yeah. This is going to be a boring first post. I just want to see what it looks like. Sara, I want some stars or something to come out of the arrow when I click it. How do I do that? I have to go to the gym now before WW3 starts.
