This Cheered Me Up - A Little

Oh man does anyone else want to seriously stab themselves in the temple on Mondays like I do?! It sorta starts Sunday night. Ugh. I hate Mondays. So, it's a good thing I have funny websites to semi cheer me up. Like the pic below:

So whatever. I hate Monday.

Last weekend was so much fun omg. Here are some pics!

Yes. Love Fridays. Tonight is going to be so fun! I cannot wait to go dancing.

Not much to talk about today. I finally took my car to get an oil change yesterday. Yay. Today I get to go get an award for my role in my last project (remember, the one I complained about all the time!?). We were awarded Team of the Year and Team of the Quarter. It's going to be really great to see everyone again that I worked with. :) And of course to have the recognition. I just wish the award came with some money. LOL.

So, today is another long day and then I'm outta here for some fun out in DC.

Have a great weekend!!

Not Much to Say

Not much to say today. It is so cold in my office I'm wearing a tank top, a blouse, a sweater, and a fleece. And it is 90+ degrees outside. How does that make sense?! I don't understand it.

I am dragging today. I went out to dinner with Fitzalan last night to Gordon Biersch Brewery and omg it was sooo good. I got this cedar plank pecan crusted salmon that was absolutely to die for. We had a really great time! :) It was so good to see her because it had been too long. I was on the phone though later and went to bed way too late. I was wide awake though! Ugh the trials of being a night person with a day job. LOL.

Tonight I made my famous white chili and Alice is coming over for dinner. I'm excited.

I am finally taking my car to get an oil change today. And the stupid safety and emissions inspections that are required here. It blows.

Well this weekend seems like it is going to be pretty busy - lots going on - and all fun stuff. That will be nice! Tonight dinner, tomorrow night dancing, Saturday pool and out dancing again, and Sunday morning brunch with all the girls and then the pool. Wow, when am I going to have time to sleep? LOL!

The Moral of the Story: Beats Me. I'll be at the Bar.

Omg. Best weekend EVARRRRR. I had so much fun in Detroit. I just cannot even begin to explain. The only thing that would have made it better is if Lindsay, Jackie, and Chrissy were there. :( Friday night we went out to a bunch of local bars with a group and then Mark and Robyn had a bonfire at their house afterwards. It was so fun. Mark made banana pancakes the next morning and they were the bomb. Saturday we went to a barbeque, and Sunday to Robbie's softball game and then to a house party. Monday was the best kind of lazy day ever. I just couldn't have asked for a better weekend. :)

Now I'm back at work. Ho hum.

I'm still on cloud nine. :)

Oh man and I'm planning a Toga party. How fun is that?!!!!!?!

OMg and did you know that there are still pirates out there?! CNN wouldn't lie.

One More Thing

Will someone

Thank God it's Thursday. Ugh. So happy. I'm exhausted. I got most of my packing done last night though so that's good, cuz I want to go to happy hour tonight. Woot! Half price martinis at my favorite place! Gotta love it!

Not much exciting to talk about. I watched Dodgeball last night (well, and the night before because I fell asleep half way through it), and it was hilarious. I love Vince Vaughn. Aaanngh. He's so funny. And Ben Stiller is just the goofiest person ever. Love it.

Hmm. I feel like there was something else I was going to talk about but now I can't remember. I think I need more sleep. I feel sorta like a zombie.

Okay this article is weird. They keep finding severed feet washing up to shore in Canada. WTF? Funny for us, not so funny for the previous owners of the feet. :)

Hilarious Analogies

Funny analogies that are circulating around. . . I guess they are from actual high school essays collected by English teachers across the country for their own amusement. LMAO!

1. Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two sides gently compressed by a ThighMaster.

2. His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.

3. He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.

4. She grew on him like she was a colony of E. Coli, and he was room-temperature Canadian beef.

5. She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.

6. Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.

7. He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree.

8. The revelation that his marriage of 30 years had disintegrated because of his wife’s infidelity came as a rude shock, like a surcharge at a formerly surcharge-free ATM machine.

9. The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t.

10. McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup.

11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.

12. Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze.

13. The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.

14. Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.

15. They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan’s teeth.

16. John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.

17. He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River.

18. Even in his last years, Granddad had a mind like a steel trap, only one that had been left out so long it had rusted shut.

19. Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do.

20. The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.

21. The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.

22. He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck, either, but a real duck that was actually lame, maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

23. The ballerina rose gracefully en Pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant.

24. It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools.

25. He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up.

Pink Hair Woot!

I got my pink extensions on Friday! Woot! I was so excited. They are really, really cute. If you look closely below you may be able to see them in some of my pics, but I only got four and they are very subtle - so they are sorta hard to see in pictures. Love them though! :) Which is a good thing because they were freaking expensive! They better last forever! LOL!

Saturday morning I took a kickboxing class and omg it was soooooooo awesome! I loved it so much! The guy had awesome lighting and music and it was just such a great class. I am going to look for one that is closer to my house because that one is super far away. Plus, it is ridiculously expensive. $110 a month! Can you believe that!? You'd have to take a class like every single day to make it worth it. Considering it is abuot 30 minutes from my house - notgonnahappen!

ok for some reason picture trail is being lame so I guess I'll have to post pics later.

I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that today is Friday

I am so happy right now. OMG. I had a huge smile on my face all the way to work. Thank the Lord. It truly amazes me how much my stress level drops to nothing on Friday. I don't know if I've ever had a more boring week. I was busy in the beginning, but then the rest was boring. Whew. So glad it's over. I've gone by my team lead's office twice now to talk to him about getting assigned more work, and he hasn't been there. WTF. I guess maybe he took some time off or something. I'll have to get him on Monday cuz I can't stand this sh*t anymore. LOL!

Also - I'm taking a half day today because I am going to go to the open studio time at my art school to finish my stuff that I made in pottery. I still can't believe it's over already! I'll post pics as soon as they are done! I have to glaze them today and get them fired in the kiln again.

This weekend I plan on sitting on my butt all day every day at the pool, intermixed with some dancing, drinking, and shopping. Sounds like an awesome weekend! Oh and also I have book club on Sunday - which I am so excited for because it has been so long since we got together last. Our book this time is London is the Best City in America. I'm not done with it yet but I really like it. It's funny and quirky and a pretty quick read. I can't wait to see what all the girls think about it.

Oh and I decided that the title of my chapter in It's Not Hard to Be Nice is going to be called "Figure it out!" LOL.

We're Writing a Book

Okay so all of my girlfriends and I are writing a book we decided. It is a book about dating, written by women, intended for men to read.

The title is: It's Not Hard to Be Nice

So far, the prolouge is just going to be funny. Alice is writing the chapter titled "Consistency," Jade is writing the chapter titled "I don't know how anyone gets together," and the epilogue also has to be funny. I need chapters from Lindsay, Chrissy, etc., etc.

Anything that you would like boys to know about dating.

It's gonna be funny. :)

Tired & My Neck Hurts

Boo hoo I'm tired and my neck is killing me. I guess I slept on it wrong last night. Boo hoo.

Yesterday I went for an hour long run and almost died. But OMG it was such an awesome feeling. I go to a local park and it is so nice, most of it is shaded, and damn it's a long trail. I always feel great afterwards though. :)

Not much exciting to talk about today. Going out to celebrate Jade's birthday tonight out in DC so that should be fun.

Powa Outage

Well I cooled my heels almost all morning here at work because our power was out. Then I found out that they were letting people go home and giving us a number to charge for our time! I was like WTF why didn't I get this memo?! I could have totally left and went to the freakin' pool all afternoon! The power came back on at 1 so now I'm stuck here until 4. Oh well.

I am super excited because Alice, Jessi and I all decided today to go to two concerts. The first is on July 12th and it is Brad Paisley. The second is on July 26th and is OAR. OMG I am so excited. I absolutely love going to concerts and want to go to one like every day of my life during the summer. Both of them are only like 40 bucks too, so it's not too expensive. SO excited! Jessi and I went to see OAR last summer and it was awesome. I have gone to see them 3 times and every time it was such a great time.

OMG I can't believe I am going home again already in 9 days! It seems like the time has flown by. Woo hoo!

Honk-shoos at Work

Check it out!

I want a nap room at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm Irritable

I'm irritable. It's ridiculously cold in my office and I want to die. How am I supposed to wear cute summer outfits if they keep my office at 60 degrees?! Riddle me that!

I still have to do my homework. FUCK.

I hate school.

Love Summer

Oh man I love summer. I am so glad it is hot outside FINALLY. Although, it has been like 100 here lately which is pretty intolerable - mainly because it is ridiculously humid too. Today it is supposed to be 97! I don't care, I love hot weather. Love love love!

Last weekend I spent most of every day at the pool. Friday night I went to see Sex and the City with Alice and out to dinner at our favorite place - Sweetwater. Oh man it is so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Well, as for the movie, I have to say that I wasn't all that impressed. I was annoyed that the entire thing centered around getting married. Like, isn't SATC supposed to celebrate being single and stuff? I don't know. I'm not going to talk about the other stuff that annoyed me because I don't want to give anything away in case you haven't seen it. I will say, I did laugh a lot throughout the movie, which was nice.

Saturday night Alice and I met up with some people at The Park and danced all night long. Oh man it was soooo hot in there we all thought we were going to die. Alice and I eventually found an air conditioning vent and danced under it for like 2 hours. We were in love with it. It was a really great time. At one point one of the managers came up to us and said we looked like we were having fun and what did we want our next drink to be? And then just came back with some drinks for us! It was sooo awesome!! On the way home we laughed for like 20 minutes at this guy on the metro that was totally passed out on his friend's shoulder for the whole ride. It was hilarious.

Well other than that I did have a pretty productive weekend and got a lot of stuff done. So I have that going for me, which is nice. Tonight I have to do homework, which sorta makes me want to die.

Here are some pics from the weekend and stuff!

10 More Please

I could have slept for 10 more hours this morning I think. OMG I am so tired. This cold is totally zapping all of my energy! I went to the doctor yesterday and she was like, yup, you just have to suffer until it goes away. Oh man I am EXHAUSTED!

Tonight is my last night of pottery and I can't believe it has already been 9 weeks! I still have 3 passes that I can use for open studio time though, from classes that I missed while I was on business travel. So I guess I'll have to find out when those times are so I can finish some of my stuff.

I have so much crap to do this weekend from being gone and I don't feel like doing any of it. Ugh.

Oh and last night I started my new class - yesanotheronealreadyshootme - and it is finance and engineering economics. Sounds like fun, huh? WHEN IS THIS STUPID DEGREE GOING TO BE DONE WITH ALREADY?!?!?! Dude, I totally just checked my grade from my last class and I got an A-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot!

wow this postisrandom lol
