Running, Vodka, Xanax

All things that make you not care about things.

Those three are the loves of my life.

I will not

I will not subject you to my mood today.

Why is it Friday and I am in a bad mood?

I Been Busy

Whoa well it has been like forever and ever since I last posted! I can't believe it! Hmm let's see...well the weekend of August 8th I went home for Robyn and Mark's wedding and it was so gorgeous and so much fun. I cried so hard during the ceremony. I don't think I've ever cried that much at a wedding. Their vows were so sweet! OMG. Then the rest of the weekend I just partied with my friends and family, and spent time with Robbie - FINALLY. We had so much fun. It just sucks that Chrissy and Jackie live so far away now, it makes it hard for us all to get together for the entire weekend like we used to.

Then when I got back from Detroit I got to go to Los Angeles for work, which also mean that I got to stop in Vegas on the way home again!! It was so awesome. Lindsay came out to Los Angeles while I was there and we got to go to the beach. We didn't really get to enjoy it that much (together) though because I had to work Thursday allllllllll day (like 12 hours), and then right when I left work we headed straight to Vegas. Robbie got there like 2 hours after we did so we got another weekend together! It was the bomb. I just got back early Tuesday morning and the jet lag hasn't been that bad surprisingly. This morning I was exhausted and could have slept for about a million more hours though.

So, needless to say I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off ever since I got back. I had tons to do and take care of since I have been gone, and I have been SO busy at work - it has been freaking awesome!!!! I love being busy at work! LOVE it! And guess what? I got two more awards! I am the shiznit! And they both came with money. OMG I was so excited when I got that news yesterday. LOL. I think I might treat myself to a new coach wristlet or something. YES!

Anyway, pictures!!!

Three men were hiking through a forest when they came upon a large raging, violent river.

Needing to get to the other side, the first man prayed : 'God, please give me the strength to cross the river.' Poof! .... God gave him big arms and strong legs and he was able to swim across in about 2 hours, having almost drowned twice.

After witnessing that, the second man prayed : 'God, please give me strength and the tools to cross the river.' Poof! .... God gave him a rowboat and strong arms and strong legs and he was able to row across in about an hour after almost capsizing once.

Seeing what happened to the first two men, the third man prayed: 'God, please give me the strength, the tools and the intelligence to cross the river.' Poof! .... He was turned into a woman.

She checked the map, hiked one hundred yards up stream and walked across the bridge.

Lots To Talk About Today

Hmm well where do I begin. I have a lot to talk about today. Well, first, I had another tag-up meeting with the chief engineer on my team yesterday afternoon and he informed me that I will be starting some new work within the next month. I am so happy you have no idea. It was music to my ears. The stuff I am going to be working seems really interesting so I am pumped. Woot!

Second, I had a dream last night about a lion attacking someone. Where the heck does that come from? I don't know. I need to lay off the crack.

Third, I pulled my quad last night playing softball - the first time I was at bat. OMG I was so annoyed. I limped to my car and proceeded to ice it for the rest of the night. It feels better today; as long as I don't make any fast moves I think I'll be okay. Being injured is so annoying though. Ugh. On top of that I am just all around sore from kickboxing on Tuesday. Okay that's enough of the complaints in that category.

Fourth, I thought this article: No Crisis Is Immune From Exploitation Under Bush, written by Hillary Clinton, was really interesting. It is about government contracting, and considering I work for a government contractor it was of course of special interest to me. It's also really well written and has an omg factor to it.

Fifth, how about this article: Questions for Rich Rodriguez, about our wonderful Wolverine football team that will take the field for their first game on August 30. Omg I can't handle this stress. Personally I really don't give a poop if they are like a family as long as they win games.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

Last night I tried out a new place called LA Boxing and took a kickboxing class. It was a good class; I still can't lift my arms because we worked them so hard. The instructor seemed sorta pretentious though and gave me waaaaaaaay too much special attention. It made me feel uncomfortable (there are multiple instructors though so I could go to a different one if I decide to join). Which I think he thought that if he gave me special attention that it would make me want to sign up, but it had the opposite effect. Then when I was leaving they asked me to sign up (which is normal, and I expected), and when I said that I was going to think about it and check out some other places, they kept saying that they probably wouldn't see me back. I was like, well, not with that attitude you won't. It annoyed me and made me feel like they were trying to guilt me or something. Sheesh.

I actually really liked the other place better that I went to, Kim's Karate, about a month ago. It was more fun, the atmosphere was better, and I liked the music better. The only problem is that it is really far away from where I live and work, and it is ridiculously expensive. So unfortunately that place is out. So I guess I am going to just check out some gyms that are around where I live and make sure they offer kickboxing. Probably not until it starts to get cold though, because I hate going to the gym during the summer. I'd rather run outside in the sweltering heat.

Okay this is moderately depressing but check out this article about the Big 3. Now they're saying they might go bankrupt. I can't believe it's gotten this far. Poor Detroit.

Let's Play Pretend

I was pretending this morning that I live in California and I was looking at palm trees rather than regular trees, and only 1 mile away from the beach. Sigh. I love DC, but I am ready for a change and I sorta feel like I'm in school jail. In other words, can't move to Cali until school is over. Jail. School jail. Welp only 9 months and I can start I guess I should continue to really enjoy my time in our nation's capital while I am still here. Can you believe that in November it will be 5 years that I have been living here? Me neither! It's crazy!

On another note...only 2 more days and I will be headed to DETROIT!!! OMG I am so excited. I cannot wait to see everyone and FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY see my boyfriend. I'm on pins and needles with excitement. I'm sure Robyn and Mark's wedding is going to be tons of fun, as well as ther rest of the weekend!! Woot!

Alright I have nothing else exciting to talk about.

He who run through airport naked is going to Bangkok.

Another Monday where I am not in a foul mood? Whoa this is like getting seriously crazy people!! I don't know what's up lately. LOL. I'm just going to go with it, though. Yup.

I finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns on Friday. It was really good, even though it was sad and I cried in some parts. Other than that I was at the pool relaxing and what not during the day. I went to two new restaurants this weekend. On Saturday, we went to Carribean Breeze for Jessi's birthday celebration. It was so yummy. It says it is "nuevo latino" food, and omg it was soooo good. I really liked it. I ate so much they almost had to roll me to the bar afterwards. Sunday we went to Bonefish Grill, which was also totally amazing and yummy. I can't wait to eat my leftovers for dinner! Overall it was a great weekend for shoving my face. LOL.

Well not much else to talk about really. I already finished my final exam for school, so that is totally awesome. Did I already mention that I am so glad I don't have to go to class tomorrow?! I am going to see the new X-Files movie tomorrow night instead! Sounds like a much better way to spend an evening rather than death-by-powerpoint.

And tonight I am going to start packing to go to DETROIT ON FRIIIIDAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited?

Finally, this picture made me laugh, so I thought I would share it:

Follow Up

Here is a follow-up article about the naming thing I talked about the other day. You know, with the girl Talula Does the Hula?! LOL!

How about being named Indiana Jones or Dow Jones?

Why do people do this to their children?

Into Work Early Like Whoa

Omg I got to work at 6:30 today! Voluntarily! No, I haven't lost my mind! I just really want to go to the pool today! :) I'm using a lot of exclamation points!

Last night I got my hair done and it looks awesome. I freaking love my hairstylist. She's the bomb (and is from MI!). Whenever I go in there she tells me she wants to hear about my life because she thinks it is exciting. That makes me laugh, but I'm glad she thinks so. LOL. I guess since she is a single mom so she really doesn't have time to do much besides chill with her daughter (16 mos). Then I got to experience one of my favorite things ever about getting my hair did - getting my hair washed by someone else. Aaaaangghh if I won the lottery I would pay someone to wash my hair for me every day. It's awesome. Or, I suppose I could persuade my future husband to do it. Yes, that sounds more affordable. LOL.

Speaking of babies, did you hear about this fool who posted a YouTube video about poisoning baby food? He said he couldn't be caught. Um, just a thought - YOU POSTED IT ON THE FREAKIN' INTERNET!!!! HELLLOOOOOOOO!!!! He was arrested Thursday. Now some village is missing it's idiot.
