Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii people. Happy Tuesday! I am surprisingly in a really good mood today! I think it is because I am very happy that it isn't Monday anymore! I made the mistake of working on my job search yesterday and it put me in a bad mood. LOL. And look at my horoscope on Yahoo today:

Tuesday is country music day at work and although I have been a fan of country music for a long time, I never expected that it would be my favorite day at work! I know it has a stereotype of being sad or whatever, but seriously, the songs are mostly up-beat and make me feel happy. LOL. It is FAR FAR superior to easy listening day, where I get enough Bryan Adams to make me want to shove hot pokers in my ears. Serious. I can't stand super sappy b.s. songs.

I am getting so very excited because in two days my sister will be here! Jessi is coming down from Baltimore to join in the fun, too! We're going to be going to the National Cherry Blossom Festival on Friday. I am pumped. I have never gone down to the city for it because I never was in the mood to deal with the crowds (well, I drove through once). I am very excited to go this weekend because it is supposed to be beautiful.

Saturday we are going to do some sight-seeing and go to the National Museum of American History. I've been there one time previously but the Smithsonians are so HUGE there is no way you can see all the stuff in one visit. I'm very excited to go back. Saturday night we're going to go out to dinner in Georgetown at Hook. It looks super fancy and yummy. Sara said she wanted to go out for seafood, so that's where I picked. :0)

Other than that, we'll probably be going out on Friday and Saturday night for drinks or wherever the night takes us. AND - very exciting - I think we are going to go look at some wedding dresses!!! :0) I can't wait for this weekend!!!!!!!! :o)

One more thing. I thought this article was really interesting and asks a pretty good question: Why aren't celebrities adopting U.S. kids? It makes some really good points, and really - why don't they adopt some Americans? I don't get it.

Where Are My Keys I Lost My Phone

Monday. Ugh. Today actually has been okay for a Monday though, I have to admit.

I went to visit Jessie in Baltimore over the weekend and we had a great time. We went to dinner on Friday night, and then went shopping and to get pedicures on Saturday. I got lots of cute stuff. I love shopping. :) I got some sandals, a blazer (wearing it right now! yay!), a button down shirt, earrings (Jessie's treat!), some lotion, and a bathing suit. Riddle me this - the bottoms of the bathing suit are NOT lined. How dumb is that? So that means if I go in the water, everyone will see my butt. I am going to take them back because I think that is dumb, which is sorta a bummer because they are cute. S I guess I'll have to find some bottoms that match somewhere else. I got it at H&M, and their bottoms are never lined. It's dumb.

Saturday night, I ended up staying in and watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Omg, it was WEIRD. I thought it was pretty good but wow, in some parts it was just really strange. I guess that was the point though. LOL.

I had two AMAZING runs this weekend. I ran my entire trail two times without stopping at all (well, one time I had to stop for like 1 minute for traffic). It is about 2 1/2 miles. I was very proud of myself. :)

I am very excited because my sister will be here this Thursday!!!! I can't wait. I love having visitors. :)

Easy Yummy Recipe: Garlic Parmesan Chicken with Roasted Veggies!

2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
3 tsp Olive Oil
1 3-oz Chicken Breast (boneless, skinless)
3 cups Chopped Veggies of Your Choice
Salt and Pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix together garlic, cheese, and 1 tsp oil. Pat mixture onto chicken and place onto baking sheet.
Dice veggies and toss with 2 tsp oil, salt, and pepper. Place on baking sheet.
Bake 20 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165 degrees F and veggies are tender.

We Landed on the Moon!!!

Twilight was soooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I know a few of my girls have said that they didn't really like it, but I really did! Lindsay thinks Edward is too scrawny but I didn't think so. There were a few parts in the movie that I thought seemed a little contrived but overall I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next one to come out. I will definitely want to own the DVDs at some point. :-)

Last night I did not sleep very well at all. I happen to have the suckiest dryer ever and my mattress cover wasn't dry by the time it was time to go to bed, so I couldn't make my bed. Well, I could have but then I would have had to take it apart and re-make it again, which I am too lazy to do. So I slept on the couch. Zach was happy, but I kept waking up. LOL.

Today it seems like it has the potential to be a nice day even though it was super foggy on my way into work. It was sunny when I was just outside though so I am very much looking forward to getting out of work and going for a run. I'm getting ready for pool season!

New Idea Inspired by Fitzalan's Blog :-)

Hi peeps! So, I have a new idea for my blog that was inspired by Fitzalan's Blog. I thought it might be fun to occasionally post some simple, healthy and yummy recipes that I love to make.

I don't know about you guys but I am always asking my friends to send me recipes like this. Being that I am a very busy and important...ahem..., I don't always have time to make extravagant meals that require a lot of work or exotic ingredients. I need things that are quick and easy, but also healthy and OF COURSE it has to taste good. And I don't know about you, but it sucks to get stuck in a rut and feel like you are always making the same thing. So, every now and again, I might start posting some of my favorites! :) Woot!

Last night Jessi and I went to Sette Bello in Clarendon for happy hour. It was yummy and we had a good time. Tonight we are going to watch Twilight. Omg, I am so excited to FINALLY watch it. I can't wait. Also, Chrissy told me that Stephanie Meyer is apparently coming out with the same series of books, except told from Edward's perspective. I think that sounds awesome!

Robbie sent me this in an email yesterday and it made me laugh really hard so I thought I would share it with all of you. It was called the OSHA Hormone Guide. LMAO.

I got my drink and my two-step

Hi people! Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a good one. Mine is okay so far. Another day at the office, but thankfully I've been busy so it is flying by! :)


Last night I had the first day of my LAST class in my master's degree program. Thank the LORD. So, the good news is that we actually only have to meet 4 times for this class! We met yesterday, next week, one time in April for our progress report, and the last day of class in May to do our presentations and turn in our final reports. The class is essentially a big project that we are doing in groups of 4. We have to write a 30 page paper and do two 20-minute presentations. Fun times. It seems like it might be a little rough though, simply because the professor was telling us about topics to choose for our project, and he essentially said we could pick whatever we want as long as it isn't boring. I don't know...I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark here and maybe assume that things that I think are boring are not the same things that my professor thinks are boring, and vice versa. Go figure.


Tonight I think Jessi and I (and maybe Jade) are going to go to happy hour somewhere. It should be fun. I miss the good old days when I would go to happy hour with people almost every week. And when I lived with Dorothy and we would go together all the time. Fun stuff.

Very, very exciting news to post today on my blog!!!!!!!!!!

My sister and her honey, Jon, got ENGAGED on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!! Very, very happy for them and also, selfishly :) , very happy for me - because that means I get a new brother and two new nephews to boot! Yayyyy!!!!!!

Also, I get to be the maid of honor, which means I get to plan fun stuff like an engagement party and bachelorette party!!! Here are some pics!

So, weekend recap - Friday night I went with Jade and Shoshanna to see I Love You, Man and it was HILARIOUS. We all laughed so hard and it was great. People actually clapped at the end of the movie. I almost didn't go with them because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to go out in the cold, but in the end I decided to go and I am SO glad I did. It was a really great movie. :o)

Saturday I had a great workout, and then I went shopping; it was so fun. My co-workers at my previous job got me a gift card as a going away gift, which was so very nice and thoughtful and I thoroughly enjoyed spending it. I got some shirts and a skirt and some new sandals. :-) I tried getting some bermuda shorts at Aeropostale - but does anyone else notice that their pants run SMALL? I felt like a sausage jammed into those things. And nothing is more uncomfortable that too-tight shorts. Yuck.

After that I went grocery shopping and had the most annoying cart ever that kept pulling to the left, and coicidentally I saw this pic on Graph Jam and it made me laugh so I had to post it. I was about to chuck that cart into oblivian by the time I was done with it.

Saturday evening, I finished watching season 1 of Californication and omg it was SO GOOD! You guys def have to watch it. It is so funny and dramatic and crazy and everything all rolled into one. Some of the stuff is pretty over the top - but still a great show overall. :-)

Sunday I did something completely CRAZY - I did not do one thing at all that I didn't feel like doing. I woke up, talked on the phone a bit, took a 2 hour nap, went to dinner with Jessi at Outback, and then came home and relaxed some more. It was a great Sunday.

This pic made me laugh so I had to share it....I've bought several of my friends t-shirts with the Virgina state slogan on it, because it is cute and I like it - and this just cracked me up when I saw it. Doesn't it make it even better that it is a onesie?Lmao.

Hello people. I again don't really have much exciting to talk about today. Last night was just another Thursday night, although I was very annoyed that stupid basketball was on so CSI and Eleventh Hour were NOT. I just ended up reading my book instead, which is okay now that I am further into it. It's kinda slow though. Boo.

So, very happy of course that it is Friday.

OH! Here's exciting news!! I got a ticket to go visit Robbie and Lindsay in Vegas again! I can't wait. I haven't been able go anywhere since Christmas because of work. Also, I don't know when I am going to find a job in Cali and have to prepare for moving (original plan was to move in June), but I just have no idea what is going to happen with that since the job market is so sucky right now. So, I just decided to say F it and get a ticket to go out there. I couldn't go in April because of work, and my sister is visiting, and I am going to be on business travel for a whole week, and Robbie is visiting - so that weekend was the soonest and cheapest weekend I could go. Woot!!! It would have been nice to go over Memorial Day but holy crap those tickets were RIDICULOUS of course.

I can't think of anything very exciting to say today. I watched the X-Files movie last night and it was REALLY good and REALLY intense. I liked it a lot.

I thought this was interesting, Bed, Bath and Beyond is leading an effort called American Women of Invention. Roll-up flip-flops, anyone?

I didn't end up going to the party last night. I was not feeling well, so BEYOND exhausted, FREEZING COLD, and I was sort of not in the mood to make small talk with people I didn't know. You know how that is sometimes? So I decided to stay in and just relax. Omg I am SO happy I did. I took the hottest shower ever and immediately got in bed with my book and a glass of wine. I ended up falling asleep at like 9:30. It was AMAZING. This morning I felt like I still could have slept forever. I got up at 7:30 and got to work a whole hour earlier than I normally do. Which I am beyond excited about because that means I get to leave work at 4:30 and go running, and it is going to be a gorgeous day in the 60s today. Weeeeeeee!

This article cracked me up and made me think of Chrissy, because when we were growing up we used to always go camping and try to catch frogs and turtles. And also she loves frogs. :) They are closing down some of the roads in Philly because it is frog mating/migration season. :) LOL!

Did you ever have this dream?! I think Lindsay did the other day.... :)

Ugh I am so glad I am feeling normal today. I finally feel like I have a normal appetite. When I am really tired, all I want to do is eat refined carbs like crazy. And my portion sizes get all out of whack. Like my body is saying it needs energy like whoa and even if it is from a sugar high, it's gonna get it.

Tonight I am very excited because I FINALLY get to see the new X-Files movie, X-Files: I Want to Believe. I am getting it from Netflix today! Yay! And apparently I have been on a David Duchovney kick because I just got done watching the first DVD of Season 1 of Californication, which by the way is HILARIOUS! I could do without all the boob shots that occur about every 2 seconds, but overall it is a really great show. Robbie told me about it and now we are both hooked! LOL.

Happy St. Patrick's Day my friends!!! :-) Very excited because I am going to a St. Patrick's Day party tonight! Yayyyy!!!! People here don't really get too excited about the holiday it seems, so I was even more excited when Jade invited me to the party tonight!! I am wearing a green sweater today, although it is a sweater that I hate. I refuse to get rid of it though because it is Kenneth Cole and it was expenisve. Isn't that ridiculous? LOL.

Another happy item - no class tonight! It's our week off! Woot!

Not much else exciting to talk about, just chilled out last night. Today doesn't feel like Tuesday for some reason. I don't know why. I feel like this week has already been LONG.

Friday That Feels Like Monday

I have been having the most annoying day today. It does not feel like Friday, it feels like Monday. Omg. Only 1 hour left of work. I cannot wait to go home, work out, and then just relax the rest of the night.

Thursday Thursday Thursday Thursday!!!!!!!!!!

I love Thursdays. Because 1) it's the day before Friday, which automatically makes me happy, and 2) CSI and The Eleventh Hour are on. Yay!!!

I got my new glasses yesterday! See pic below! I wore them to work today, because I was very excited to get them, and I think that this is the first time in like 8 or 9 years that I have actually worn my glasses in public. It's weird. And, as I was telling Robbie last night, because I am not used to wearing them it seriously messes up my depth perception (and I feel like I have no peripheral vision at ALL) and causes me to fall down stairs. Hence falling down the stairs this morning on my way to my car. No lie. I really did. It was only like 2 stairs before I caught myself, but I still laughed (and somehow my baby toe ended up on the outside of my shoe, wtf). So, needless to say I was extremely careful while I was driving. LOL.

I can't remember if I talked about it or not but I hit my 5 year mark with my company last month. It is SO hard to fathom the fact that I have actually been out of undergrad and working for that long. Crazy. The fun news is, I get recognized and got to pick something out of a catalogue as a recognition gift! :) I picked the ring below! Isn't it cute!? I checked the delivery status and I am supposed to get it today. Woot! :)

I'm Playing Musical Office Mates

I found out a few days ago that I am going to be getting another new office mate. I have had two so far. They are making my current one move, so I'll be on #3. Strange. It's always like that around here because they don't have enough space for everyone. So they randomly make people move all the time. I hope they don't make me move. I get really annoyed with having to change desks a million times. I want MY space with MY stuff and that's that.

Yesterday class actually wasn't that bad. There were 6 groups in my class and we all did our presentations. I thought we did pretty well. The prof seemed happy. Oh yeah, I remembered that we had another female professor before, like last year sometime. She was good too. I really liked the prof this semester. After our presentations, she went over all of the answers to the quiz with us. Unfortunately, I had already ran out of there like a bat out of hell. I am very lucky to have some very nice teammates that gave me a call to help me out on that one. :) We have next week off, and the following week we start our FINAL class! Woot!

I finished the fourth Twilight book and I am so sad it is over. It was so good. She could totally take the story further I think. I want more! So, last night I started Love in the Time of Cholera (book club book), and hopefully it is good. It takes place somewhere near the Caribbean, so I think we are going to have a Caribbean theme for the food at our next meeting. YUM!

My Best Friend's Girl

I watched My Best Friend's Girl last night and it was pretty funny. Dane Cook seems to play the same role a lot...his role in this movie reminded me almost exactly of his stand up. Which, I guess is okay, because it is pretty funny. Kate Hudson was pretty good in the movie too. I laughed a lot, so that was good. :)

It's cold again here. Boo. It's only supposed to be 51 degrees today. Total bummer. I guess my one consolation is that I wouldn't be able to spend any time outside anyway. I have to go straight from work to class. Ew. Tomorrow it's supposed to warm up again, but then get cold again on Thursday. Cripes. I just want SPRING to be here!!!

Oh - exciting news! Robbie bought his plane ticket to visit me again in April!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! I can't wait! :) I'm so glad that the next time he comes here it will be warm out so we can actually spend a decent amount of time down in the city. It was freakin freezing last time he was here.

Praying for Me?

Are you guys praying for me to get a job in Cali?! Please say yes! I love it here in DC but I really can't wait to move west and be closer to Robbie and Lindsay...and slowly start implementing my evil plan to get all of my friends and family to move to a warm climate. I've already convinced Jessi to look at schools in Southern Cali for grad school. Ah ah ah ah ah.

I had an awesome weekend. Friday I just relaxed and got some stuff done. Saturday, Jessi and I went running at the park - the weather was SO gorgeous. Then we went and got some yummy smoothies. Saturday night, Jessi, Jade, and I went out dancing in DC in Adam's Morgan. It was crazy. We went bar-hopping and hit up like 5 different places. I love Adam's Morgan because the party is always hoppin' down there, and it is about 4 blocks of bars lining each side of the street. So you can go to tons of different places all night long. Also, they have Jumbo Slice pizza - which is freakin' amazing and always good to get after you leave the bar. We were good though and split one between the 3 of us. :)

Sunday I went back to the park and went running again because it was another gorgeous day, and later that night I went to Jessi's house to do a craft project. We made decoupage cigar boxes. I covered mine with pictures of shoes, and Jessi covered hers with pictures of flowers. She is volunteering at various homes in the area and doing art projects with the people. That means I get to be her guniea pig to try stuff out and create examples. :)

Tomorrow is my LAST day of class for this class. I am so happy. We still have to do a presentation, and I have a quiz to do, but then I will be done! One class left! Woot!

Extreme Dog Grooming

Omg guys, you gotta check out this article that Jessi sent to me - Extreme Dog Grooming. It is HILARIOUS! My favorites are the buffalo and the teenage mutant ninja turtle! LOL! Definitely a good laugh.

Did you see CSI last night? Taylor Swift was a guest star. Even though I think her music is a little bubble-gum for my taste, I thought she did well on the show! It was a good episode. I started watching the show that comes on afterwards too, The Eleventh Hour, and I'm getting hooked on it! It sorta reminds me of the X-Files, in that it is a male/female pair of FBI agents running around investigating weird cases. But, there isn't a sci-fi aspect to it. So far, it always turns out that there is a scientific explanation for their cases. It's good!

I am a little freaked out lately because I found out that someone in my apartment complex had their apartment broken into. It said that someone bashed in the door. How scary is that? I don't really know what to do. I have my pepper spray next to my bed and I keep both locks locked, and the chain lock on all the time, but sheesh. I've been having nightmares lately about people breaking in. Zach isn't much of an attack cat. Any suggestions?

Burn After Reading

Last night I watched Burn After Reading and it was so hilarious! Omg. I laughed the entire time. Brad Pitt's character was soooooooooo funny. And, it was filmed partially in DC, so it was fun to see some of the stuff in the movie that is right in my own backyard! And then I was wondering about how I didn't know that George Clooney and Brad Pitt were in DC?! Oh, one thing I didn't like about it is that pretty much everyone in the movie is having an affair. As I have said before I really don't get why so many books and movies involve that subject. Sick. George Clooney was really good too, but his character was a complete creep. But it was HILARIOUS!

I am beyond excited because this weekend it is supposed to be in the high 60s on Saturday and in the 70s on Sunday. I cannot WAIT to get outside and go for a long, long run in the gorgeous weather. Jessi and I have plans to go for a run on Saturday afternoon at one of the parks in the area. I just can't believe it is going to be that warm when we just got 8 inches of snow on Sunday/Monday! Crazy.

Finally, I am reading the fourth book in the Twilight series right now and I LOVE IT! I am so happy my sister gave it to me for my birthday. It is so good.

Whew BUSY

Oh man today has been BUSY. I love it! It makes the day go by so much faster and I actually feel productive. Yay! Myself and one other person are the only people here from my team this week, everyone else is on business travel. So we've been holding down the fort. Yesterday I sent an email to 740 people with an invitation to the R&D forum that my team is planning. It was crazy, and I felt important because I sent it on behalf of the director of my organization! Woot!

Other than that not much exciting to talk about...can't wait to get out of here and work out to burn off some steam. They are currently updating my gym at my apartments, which is awesome, but that means I can't go there right now. :( So, looks like I'm working out at home.

Welp not too much going on today...just normal work and then class tonight. I got my info for my registration for my LAST CLASS yesterday. It starts right after this one and ends MAY 26TH! Not one day too soon!!! I thought it was actually more the middle of May but whatever. Thank the LORD this is almost over.

Alright...time to eat lunch and wait for this long long day to be over finally.

Hi peeps!!! Working from home today! How cool is that?! I love it! We got TONS of snow last night and today. I could not get my car out of my parking space. Boo for snow, but I can't say I'm not happy that I get to stay home and be comfy all day! Yay! Look at the pic of my balcony below! Holy snow!

Welp pretty low key weekend....stayed in on Friday because I had to get caught up with school...and Saturday night we went to Chi Cha Lounge in DC. I smoked hookah for the first time and it was hilarious. I tried mango, pear, and cinnamon. It was pretty neat and there was good music...no dancing though. Yesterday I just got caught up on errands and chores, which was super super fun as you can imagine.
